Warnings are given for many reasons. They can keep us out of a place we shouldn’t be or stop us from consuming something we shouldn’t. Most importantly, they help us understand the risks that lie ahead. Warnings can have many applications, but they exist to make us take notice of what will happen if we choose to ignore them. Peter warns us in his second letter about the dangers of complacency, being unprepared, false teachings, and impatience. Each of us must decide if we are going to heed these warnings.
